Tips after a hand surgery:

  1. Keep your hand / arm raised above the level of your heart. You can do it by placing it on several pillows, this helps reduce both pain and swelling.
  2. Do not your bandage or wound wet, this will reduce the risk of complications of your surgery, you can use a plastic bag on your limb during the shower.
  3. If you were placed in a cast or splint try not to insert objects to scratch, you can cause wounds that can get infected.
  4. Keep the dressing until you visit the doctor 10 to 12 days after the surgery.
