Tips after a hand surgery:
- Keep your hand / arm raised above the level of your heart. You can do it by placing it on several pillows, this helps reduce both pain and swelling.
- Do not your bandage or wound wet, this will reduce the risk of complications of your surgery, you can use a plastic bag on your limb during the shower.
- If you were placed in a cast or splint try not to insert objects to scratch, you can cause wounds that can get infected.
- Keep the dressing until you visit the doctor 10 to 12 days after the surgery.
